From a black box to a transparent energy company: Smart monitoring brings light into the darkness and enables a transparent display of electricity, gas and compressed air consumption. This is an important basis for sustainable optimisation.

The careful treatment of our environment is a top priority at HUESKER. Creating transparency in a company's energy consumption is the first and most important step towards CO₂ neutrality. Because without knowledge of the corresponding consumption, the processes are optimised in blind flight. In close cooperation with the workshops, we analysed the current situation in our company, we formulated our objectives and invested in a future-oriented system.

With the energy monitoring system we have introduced, we have one of the most innovative systems for the intelligent use of energy and resources. Up to the machine level, electricity, gas and compressed air consumption are seamlessly recorded, analysed, visualised and optimised. The investment in transparent energy management pays off. Our monitoring system enables us to record energy consumption end-to-end in order to increase energy efficiency and reduce costs at the same time.

Since its introduction in 2015, significant savings have been achieved across all energy sources: gas - 54%, electricity - 35%, liquefied petroleum gas - 27%. An excellent record and motivation to continue investing in various energy-saving projects. We are currently expanding our in-house network by 120 additional measuring points — for even more transparency at our plants in Gescher and Dülmen. Last but not least, we bear a social and ecological responsibility, of which we at HUESKER are aware. After all, those who keep an eye on their energy consumption and actively reduce them not only reduce costs, but also ensure a livable climate for future generations. Economy and ecology go hand in hand here, and efficiency projects secure our jobs.

Of course, we are already thinking about the smart solutions of tomorrow. For example, the possibility of automatically generating order-related energy consumption. The CO₂ footprint at product level and this fully automatically at the push of a button. This is an enormous advantage for the environment and for our customers, who can rely on an even more sustainable development of our products, which in turn increases the attractiveness of our company and our products.
